There is a set percentage number that each Alliance member can cover. It is estimated that the growth rate of free on line filing will reach 93 million if it hasn’t already. The count is on for the 2008 filing in 2009.
The choice is yours. You can log on to the IRS web site directly and find all the information and forms you need readily available, or, you can go to any one of the tax software sites that show free services. You will receive the appropriate answers, get the forms you need and get your confirmation of filing. The difference is that the IRS assistance might not be as easy to obtain with millions of people filing at the same time. The tax software companies have a staff either ready to “chat” (live messaging services) or that can get back to you as quickly as possible.
